The idea behind the way this refsheet is designed is to make it look like some kind of future-ish digital hologram displaying my fursona’s information
During the process of drawing this, I had a bright idea. Why not make it an animated gif?
I’ve never seen anyone do an animated refsheet before. It’s a jolly clever solution to any image size constraints, if I do say so myself.
It allows a greater amount of information to be included within a limited space.
And the way it is animated just adds to the overall digital hologram feel.
To help myself with anatomy, I sort of traced around a picture of a male model and also looked up a few other helpful guides on Google.
I think it worked quite well…though, personally, I feel there’s something a bit wonky about the lifted digileg. I guess I still need to work on the way perspective warps stuff or something.
Other than that, I think I did an amazing job here, and hopefully I will retain the experience from tracing the anatomy for future artistic endeavours, effectively ironing out my greatest weakness with drawing art.
I feel I need to explain in more detail some of the information included in the refsheet itself.
In the colour pallet box, where each colour is labelled by where that colour features, there’s a label that says “exposed flesh”…this means any flesh exposed where his blue fur is made absent for whatever reason, such as through being shaved with clippers, or maybe burned off a bit by fire.With his alternate fursona names, these are names I’m likely to use for my fursona in situations where he’s a character in a story. I like the three combinations shown, but there’s something I don’t like about the sound of “Thomaste Caeruleus”…it just doesn’t sound right to me.
As for alternate nicknames…the first one is a username I actually first came up with for my PSN gamer tag, and decided it sounded good, so I use it on the internet whenever “The Blue Fox Thom”, “The Blue Fox” or “Blue Fox Thom” isn’t available for whatever reason.
The second one is one I have yet to use. It was spawned when some folks were calling me “unique” and other folks were calling me an “enigma”…so I simply combined the two!
I might use it in the future the next time I can’t use any combination of “The Blue Fox Thom”
As for “fursona permanent age”…yeah, I hate the fact that I’m constantly getting older in real life.
So my fursona will forever remain 24. I feel like that’s a good age for him to stay at.
In dislikes, I’ve listed “misused apostrophies”…this is a real pet peeve of mine…whenever I see an apostrophie in the wrong place, or no apostrophie where one needs to be used, it just makes me want to find whoever wrote the word or sentence the apostrophie is in and educate them on proper apostrophie usage. Especially when it’s used on a plural…that annoys me to high heaven.
People, pay attention here;
If there’s letters left out, apostrophie’s about.
If ownership’s the word, apostrophie’s the bird.
If it’s a plural of a thing, that apostrophie won’t sing.
When in doubt, keep apostrophie out.
Another thing I’ve listed is “things and people changing”…by this I mean, people changing and becoming practically someone else, or an object or location being altered in an extreme way.
I actually discovered this particular dislike through Second Life, where quite often, I found that one moment I could know a very good friend, the next minute, they’re someone completely different.
I, for one, refuse to change. I’m happy with who I am.
I am, and will continue to be one very awesome blue fox.
There’s also the fact that old stuff is being replaced by new stuff and I find it hard to keep up. By the time I do catch up, another new thing comes along. This makes me feel stuck in the past at times.
For my favourite movie, yes, I’ve listed Zootopia.
I actually managed to avoid most of the spoilers before watching the actual movie and, without spoiling anything for anyone myself, I must say it is practically perfect in every way from start to finish, and I’m not just saying that because it’s a furry movie.
I was even genuinely surprised by a pretty major plot twist towards the end of the movie.
I did kind of see it coming a few scenes before the big reveal in the movie itself, but it was still a bit of a surprise.
I won’t go into any more detail than that. So if you don’t know what I’m talking about, all I’ll say is go see the movie for yourself.
I listed my favourite song as “Blood sugar” by Pendulum because Pendulum are my favourite band and that’s my favourite song by them, and while I do like other songs more right now, I feel this particular song will remain within at least my top 5 favourites for a very long time.
I feel everything else on my refsheet is pretty much self-explanatory.
